With your unwavering support, we achieved new milestones in every conceivable category. Here are some of our 2024 accomplishments:
On the Field:
- Reached the USL League Two Eastern Conference final (finished in the top 8 out of 128 teams nationally)
- Won the Chesapeake Division for a third year in a row, one of only 4 teams in the country to win their division three straight seasons
- Hosted the playoffs for the fourth year in a row
- Won two home playoff games
- Qualified for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup for the third consecutive year
- Finished with 15 wins, 2 losses and 4 draws
In the Stands:
- Completely shattered our season total and average attendance records (again!)
- Led the USL League Two Eastern Conference in attendance for a seventh straight year (national attendance rankings haven't been released yet)
- Broke our single-game record for attendance on July 3
- Hosted employee and client appreciation nights for Riverside Health, City of Newport News, PBMares, Chick-fil-A, Langley Federal Credit Union, Peninsula Eye Care, Bowditch Ford, Mosquito Joe, Hampton Roads Academy, YMCAs of the Peninsulas and Chowan University
- Welcomed our 100,000th all-time fan to TowneBank Stadium
In the Community:
- Donated more than 86,000 meals for the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank in partnership with Food Lion through our annual Kick Out Hunger Night and the season-long Kicks for a Cause campaign
- Welcomed more than 1,000 kids into our free youth clinics, Lionsbridge Soccer School and summer camps in partnership with Riverside Health, Food Lion, Chick-fil-A, Newport News Parks and Rec, York County Parks and Rec, Baystars FC, Smithfield Soccer Club, Suffolk Youth Soccer Association and Luke Messick Futbol Charities
- Partnered with 12 youth soccer organizations to create memories of a lifetime as 336 kids were able to participate in the national anthem walkout and as ball kids at a Lionsbridge home game
- Collaborated with Bowditch Ford on a winter food drive to benefit the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank
- Teamed up with VetTix to distribute free tickets to active and retired military personnel
- Partnered with Aux Delices Crepes and Creams to create a custom ice cream flavor, Lionsbridge Champion Chips. A portion of the proceeds will fund scholarships, allowing children in underserved communities to attend Lionsbridge Summer Soccer Camps in 2025.
- Players, coaches and staff made community appearances at Hampton City Public Schools, Poquoson High School, Hampton Roads Academy, Suffolk Youth Soccer Association, Smithfield Soccer Club, Peninsula Foodbank and Chick-fil-A.
- Published 200+ separate pieces of branded content to promote our sponsors via social media, including the Food Lion Kick Out Hunger video series and starting lineups, Riverside Health Man of the Match, PBMares Coaches Corner, Bowditch Ford Drive of the Game and On the Road, Langley Federal Credit Union Wise Save of the Game, Papa John's Score Prediction Contest, Chick-fil-A Night., etc.
