WOW! LIONSBRIDGE FC IS 2019 USL LEAGUE TWO FRANCHISE OF THE YEAR!
This week, Lionsbridge FC was named the 2019 Franchise of the Year by USL League Two! It is a tremendous honor to be chosen from the 74 clubs that compete in our league across the United States and Canada.
This is a community award: We did it together! It is absolutely a reflection of the incredible dedication and support from our fans, host families, volunteers, sponsors and partners, coaches and players. Here is what we accomplished together during the 2019 season:

On the Pitch:
- Featured one of the most high-powered offenses in League Two
- Scored 39 goals overall, 26 at home
- Won three matches vs the top academy teams for pro clubs (D.C. United and North Carolina FC)
- Was in the thick of a very close playoff race all season long
- Spent more days in first place than any other team in the South Atlantic division
- Finished just two games out of the playoffs
Off the Pitch and In the Community:
- Led the Eastern Conference in attendance for a second straight year
- Signed a multi-year extension with jersey sponsor Chick-fil-A
- Landed the league's first extensive local television broadcast agreement
- Dramatically expanded the club's host family and community outreach programs
- Conducted free community soccer clinics for 250+ kids in conjunction with Riverside and Chick-fil-A
- Raised thousands of dollars and awareness for 11 community non-profit organizations and provided 1,200 meals to needy area families via the season-ending food drive with Lidl and the Peninsula Foodbank
